Argon laser iridotomy.
Argon laser iridotomy was successfully performed on 47 out of 52 eyes of 35 patients by the continuous wave argon laser. The technique of argon laser iridotomy is described in detail. A number of complications were observed. The reasons for these are discussed, and measures for the avoidance of complications are suggested.

The binocular indirect argon laser photocoagulator was newly designed to enable visualisation of the entire fundus during panretinal laser photocoagulation and to treat retinal tears immediately after buckling procedures of the sclera. The lamp housing of the binocular ophthalmoscope was remodelled and adjusted so that the laser beam and illuminating light are coaxial after leaving the ophthalm...
متن کاملTherapeutic limitations of argon laser trabeculoplasty.
Sixty-one patients (82 eyes) were studied after argon laser trabeculoplasty (ALT) to determine the lasting efficacy of such treatment. This investigation, now in its fourth year, was prospective, and the information derived was analysed with the aid of a computer. Success was defined as intraocular pressure (IOP) below baseline (22 mmHg). The mean follow-up time was 24.5 months, when the succes...
متن کاملArgon laser treatment of senile retinoschisis.
Fifty-seven eyes of 49 patients with senile retinoschisis were treated by argon laser photocoagulation and followed up for 3 to 6 years. In most of the treated eyes the retinoschisis either completely or partially collapsed and in none did the retinoschisis or loss of visual field progress further. No long-term complications due to the treatment were noted. In none of the treated eyes did retin...
